Winterizing a boat , whats needed , whats not?

Hi , is it very important to run anti freeze through the motor or not? I found a company that will do a winterazation but they do not put antifreeze in the motor

I've been in France whilst my narrowboat freezes in Braunston (English midlands). I drained all water and disconnected various hoses and left the taps open. However I did not drain the calorifier (hot water system heated with engine coolant and/or Mikuni radiator heater - both have anti-freeze added) and I am wondering whether I will go back to a burst tank. Any thoughts/experiences out there?
