  1. check the lower unit oil at least once a year.  If water is getting in  - change it before you store it.

  2. Since the garage is climate controlled you shouldn't have too much to worry abiout. When I store my boat (done this last weekend) I add fuel stabilizer to the gas tank. This will make start up alot easier next spring.  Just follow the instructions on the bottle for doing that. I use a brand called Sta-Bil. You may want to check your owners manual and see if there are are any other things that they recommend for winterizing.

It always makes me sad to put mine away. I hate winter.

    I hope this helped you.

  3. You should stabilize the fuel with an additive such as Iso Heet or Sta-Bil. Make sure the tank is full, to prevent water formation from condensation on the inner walls of the tank (this is the major cause of water in the gas tank). In addition, spray some marine fogging oil in the motor (this prevents rust from forming on the cylinder walls during long periods of inactivity). Disconnect your electrical system and store your battery, as well (or use a battery maintainer).

  4. I recommend when still in water...remove fuel tank and run motor till it stops.Let it cool..remove plugs and give each cylinder a squirt of oil.

  5. I would put fuel stabilizer in and run it into the motor if I did nothing else. The worst problem you can get if it is a climate controlled building, is going to be engine problems due to gas break down. This will mess up your carburetor or injectors. Very costly.

  6. Check your owners manual, or phone the dealership that sells this particular brand of boat, just to be sure.

  7. since you have an outboard there really isn't much you need to do to the engine to winterize it. you will want to put a fuel stabilizer in the fuel tank the last time you plan to use it. since you are keeping it in a climate controlled storehouse you have no worries...
