Help- I have a 98 Blazer and my wiper quit working. They were only working when it wasn't raining, but now nothing. Is there a fuse? Or do I need a new motor??

  1. Just tie a peice of string to the ends of each wiper, long enuf to pull thru the windows to the drivers side. As you drive just pull them back and forth. Putting rain-x on the window also helps.

  2. there,s a fuse in the fuse box, check it first.and if the fuse is good, it might be the wiper switch.

  3. What you need to do is find out what's wrong, and then you can fix it. Fuses rarely blow unless the wipers are hung up or something, and they don't fix themselves afterwards. One of my customers has a '92 S-10 pickup, (very similar to your Blazer) and it was just that the ground strap had a poor connection. Required no new parts, and I found the problem and fixed it in 5 minutes.

Besides the fuse and the motor and the ground connection, there's also a switch, a circuit board for the intermittent function, and all the associated wiring. Any of these could be the problem. Buying a $5 12-volt test light and learning how to use it is the way to find the problem. Either that, or take it to somebody who does know how. Otherwise, you're liable to buy a ton of parts you don't need.

  4. Check your fuses.
