Wireless Connection help?

I have a 2wire wireless Gateway from att and it connects all three computers on the 2 that is getting a wireless connection its always getting disconnected and some times won't come back for an hr or more and in between 4am to about 630 am its always off the signal strenth is exelent when connected does anyone know what I can do to prevent this it is getting very frustrating

Okay first off, I have to say the 2wire Gateway from AT&T is alright but if you are having trouble with the gateway first off you should call AT&T and tell them your problem because it is their equipment. If you mess with the equipment too much they will claim that you tampered with the equipment and they are not responsible for any problems. Always Always, Call AT&T if their equipment is failing so they can fix it themselves, so if they make the problem worse it is their fault not yours. That is how you always want it with AT&T when it comes to the 2wire Gateways.


  2. I used to work for SouthWestern Bell DSL Division.. 2wire modems are finicky about signal strength. Whoever told you that your DSL signal stregth is excellent is full of S**T what your describing is a weak upstream connection. Have ATT run an ATM ping, and a signal check. If they say it looks good...tell them about the 4am - 6:30 thing and ask a engineer to come out to the home. If the problem is from the telco demark to the "headend" it's there problem and won't cost you a dime.. Just a word of warning they will try to scare you by saying that you'll have to pay if the problems in your home wiring and probably quote a 120$ price tag.. Just make sure your using all the filters they sent you, and that you don't live in an apartment, or in a home that was constucted in the 60's or prior. Otherwise tell them if they don't fix it you'll be switching to cable and you'll share your experiences with all your friends on yahoo answers. Form a question like " WHY DOES DSL SUCK AND ATT CUSTOMER SERVICE SUCK EVEN WORSE"...Anyway I used to be the guy you talked to that was not in india and what they called a L2 tech.. Best of luck..
