  1. Did it not come with an install disk (if USB)? Run that, if it did. If it's bluetooth, make sure your computer has that and then you should have some control panel to find it.

  2. First go into BIOS and check that legacy USB mouse is enabled.  (It probably is by default, but this is the usual problem when it just ignores you).

In your set you've got a receiver that plugs into a USB socket on the PC.  If you want the keyboard to work with BIOS, it needs to be plugged into USB 001 - that's usually the socket nearest the network connector.  Windows can find it anywhere, but BIOS needs USB 001. Unplug the old keyboard and mouse, but keep them for the day you're halfway through something important and the batteries run out.

Put batteries in the keyboard and mouse and switch on the PC - and wait!  Windows will eventually notice the new gadgetry and load drivers for it.

Here the design varies, but you need to set up the keyboard and mouse to register a particular frequency.  First identify the buttons for doing this - they are usually on the top of the receiver but on the bottom of the keyboard and mouse.  Press the one on the receiver and hold it down for 3 seconds.  Now press the one on the keyboard.  Press the one on the receiver again for 3 seconds, then the one on the mouse.

And that's it.  You need to do the button pressing again each time you change the batteries.
