I have a HP Pavilion DV6000 and my wireless internet has always worked then I had my internet cut off to switch into my name and when they cut it back on all of a sudden my wireless internet won't pick up ANY connections in my neighborhood, it use to pick up like 3 or 4. I got it plugged in through a etnernet cable to the router and its working. I switch the plug on and it still says WLAN disabled. Says everythings working fine, but wireless won't cut on. I've tried about everything. WHAT CAN I DO?!

  1. There is a putton on your laptop left or right for disabling and enabling the wifi card. Can you see the wifi light blinging on the laptop above the keyboard.?

If no then search from the corners of your laptop there must be. If you enabled and still disable, then go to start setting , network connection and see it if your wifi disable.

there also another thing right click mycomputer then choose properties and then hardware then device manager. You can see that if your wifi card or nic card disabled.

  2. Sounds like your computer has been blocked from use o he other services in your area. It was probably when you had the service cut off and put the new service in your name. Are you using a router? If not, that may work.

  3. call your dsl provider, have them re-set the connection

we did this we went from 10mbps to 200+mbps because they re-set our connection

your neighbors may have stopped broadcasting their signals. ours is the fastest in the neighborhood--so we do not broadcast it.  it is invisible to other dsl users.
