Question:

Wireless Problems?

I just moved to a new apartment complex. My roommates all have wireless. I've always had wireless on my laptop and it worked fine at my previous residence. At first it connected but not al the way. At first it gave me a "Validating Identity" on the wireless status and it wouldn't connect. Then my roommates tried to figure it out by using some key and it didn't work. I rebooted it and tried it this morning and i typed in the key only this time it was saying the password needs to be 40bit - 140 bit. I still cannot connect.

  1. go to my website and get wireless adapter www.globalcomputer.com

  2. Hi John

The other computer has to have an SSID. Then, the user of the computer has to give you a key to access it or a password. The key can vary from 40 to 140 bit.

The other computer has to supply the password otherwise, no access.

  3. reset your wireless router (there should be a pin hole reset button somewhere on your router and push the button in for 30 seconds to clear previous setup) and reset the modem, then setup your wireless internet through your IE7 browser.
