Question:

Wireless Router Advice

I'm interested in upgrading our wireless Internet access with SBC. Please advise...

LAPTOP: HP Pavilion dv8000
INTERNAL MODEM: Broadcom 802.11a/b/g (54Mbps)
WIRELESS CARD: Netgear WGT511 (108Mbps)
WIRELESS ROUTER: Netgear WGT624 v3 (108Mbps)

1) If I purchase either the Netgear WNR834B or the Netgear 854T, do I have to purchase another WIRELESS CARD to take advantage of the potential 270Mbps-300Mbps Internet speed or does it not matter? If so, what card would go best?

2) Does connecting both the Netgear card and the Broadcom modem at the same time have a detrimental effect?

3) What is the ''best'' wireless router for my equipment? Is there a wireless 1GB router available?

4) What does the 1394 Net Adapter when connected?

Thank you.
