Wireless connection appears perfect, but won't work?

This morning at 10am my internet was working fine, but the only difference is was windows was doing some updates on backing up files or something which ended up failing (don't know how, I left it for a bit) and there was also a thunderstorm yesterday which ended up actually striking my house but didn't affect the internet like it has before because I was on this morning.

I've tried everything like switching off the wireless connection then on again and pressing repair on all connection things and searched for help on the internet, the internet connection is perfectly fine, but when I try to access the internet it doesn't work.

Please help :(

p.s you can probably tell I'm not very good with computer language so please try and keep it simple (:

  1. best bet is to call in an expert who will probably find that you have toggled a switch or something but at least you won't dig yourself a deeper technical hole

  2. It sounds as if you have a failed update which i causing a driver problem with your wireless network.

The easiest way to sort it out is to do a system restore, and take it back to before you did the updates.

If you don't know how to do this just take the cusor to anywhere on the desktop and press F1, the "help" function will take you to the Restore function.
