I have 2 laptops. One is connected directly from the router and one gets the wireless connection. The laptop that gets the wireless connection can't connect to belkin54g (wireless connection). And yes my router is wireless. When I look at the connectionm it says: 54.0 Mbps, signal strenght: excellent, Status: connected, and yet I can't connect wireless. I have had a problem with this ever since I Tried moving my direct connection (modem and router) upstairs, but ended up moving it back downstairs. Also, The internet light on my belkin router, isn't lit up. And the packets are displayed; 0/0 for sent and recieved. I also can't connect to xbox live WITH direct connection using the ethernet cable. Please help! Also, don't tell me to unplug the router and modem for ten seconds and then plug it back in, I tried that and it dosen't work. And don't tell me that belkin is cheap and get a different router, this is all I got. It's a wireless g router by the way, if that helps.

  1. Check your connections. If the Internet light is not lit on the Belkin, then you probably accidentally plugged your internet into one of the LAN ports, 1,2,3 or 4. If so then the computer connected to one of the other ports will get internet, because your router will be working like a switch. I am pretty sure this is what you have wrong. Make sure your incoming internet cable is plugged into the "Internet" or "WAN" port on that Belkin.

  2. the answer is quite simple, turn off youre router, then youre other hardware, reboot everything, this should solve it

  3. Now you have to connect.

Right click the network icon (signal strength excellent) and select connect to a network or how all wireless networks ect, highlight Belkin > connect
