I have two questions.

At my moms I put the computer in my room and connected to a network and used the internet. This isnt working at my dads, it keeps asking for a password for the network and I don't know what to use. Whats the difference? Also, can I do this in an airport? Isn't it kinda like stealing internet?

  1. In an airport, it is set up so that it is free to people waiting there. In your dads though, its secured so the neighbours aren't piggybacking onto your internet (my friend came down the road and played his DS on my wireless =\   )

  2. The pass may be a WEP code which your Father should know, as he most likely set it up. Some airports offer something called "wifi" ETC which is they control if you use it or not, usually it is free.

  3. Your fathers wireless router has security setup that requires a password.  Ask your father for the password to connect.

At an airport there are free hot spots that allow you to use there access to the net.  It's not stealing as it's given as a service

  4. If it asking for a password the wireless router wifi password protected. The only way to find out what it is, is to call the IP that provide the router and they will walk you through it. If you have a store bought router, then you can default the setting of the router by find a button either on the back or bottom of the router that will either say "Reset" or "Default Reset" or "Factory Reset". If you can't find it, then goto the manfucture website of your router and check manual for reset. Hope this helps.
