Wireless connection problems. I just bought a new dell studio 1535 laptop and i have a westell 327

I just bought a new dell studio 1535 laptop and i have a westell 327 modem that sends a wireless signal to my laptop and it shows up under wireless connections but i cant connect to it. why not?

It really depends on what happens when you try to connect? for instance any error messages? then are are many things you can check such as checking the router/modem settings by typing the router ip address in internet explorer and logging into router settings. you can also check you laptop wireless settings such as wep key or ssid.
