  1. pull the antena out on the base

  2. Whether using 2.4 or 5.8 Ghz., or DECT. (hype)..You have the same power,a slightly different frequency. The higher the frequency, the less range. Cordless phones have poor range due to their low power, and poor 'antenna' matching. Also, anything in your house getting in the way, (like walls, wires, etc.) will greatly decrease the range of the phone. Even the older 900 Mhz. phones had only the slightest edge on distance.. The power of a cordless phone is around 100 mw., which is only one tenth of a watt. (input.) Inefficient, short, plastic coated antennas do not help much.! Keeping clear of obstructions is the only thing that may help your range.

  3. Raise the master station antenna and put the master station in a location where the path to the remotes is not substantially blocked by metallic objects.  Be sure the remotes (while in their cradles) are also in the clear as much as possible and the path to the master is not substantially blocked by metallic objects.

If the exterior walls of your house use metallic covered foam insulation avoid the possibility that the signal from the master station to the remotes is obscured or blocked by the wall insulation.  For instance, if the master station must "look through" an exterior metalized wall to see a remote the locations are not optimum.

Multipath propagation (multi-bounce) between the master and the remotes will be common, but should be minimized because each "bounce" causes a loss of energy and poorer reception.  A clear, direct path is best.

Good luck and 73 from the Fisherman

  4. use a 2.4MHz phone....or a DECT 6.0
