Wireless internet, related question.?

Question

Is it possible to buy an antenna for a wireless internet thingie. LOL Its one of those that you plug in the usb. Where can I buy an antenna like that? Are they expansive? Thanx in advance.

hi,

  most probably you would be speaking about a wireless LAN card which is not that costly.it will be having an antenna as you said for receiving and sending the signal but you also need a wireless router or an access point.most of the DSL routers comes with a wireless LAN option.

IF you are talking abt getting wireless internet connection ( for ur laptop) then what you need is a "dongle" and a sim card ( similar to you mobile phone sim card).

For that you will have to get in youch with a few mobile service provider companies to see if the sercice is available in the area........

I'm pretty sure you are talking about a wireless network card.

They cost about 50 dollars from most computer stores.

There is no point in having one unless you have a wireless router.  (which is posted by "bored" above me)

you can buy the at compusa,bestbuy and circuit city,i think they are pretty cheap the can go from 14 up to 60 dollars if you want the best one out  there.go here for prices,but theres really no point in getting one if you don't have a router.http://www.compusa.com/applications/cate...
