Wireless internet help

last night my internet on my laptop would work but now the internet on my laptop is working but I still cant search the internet. when I check the the status of my connection says limited or no connecivity. but the man at the cousrome services told me to put my laptop connection on PPeOp. and now I cant go back to 192.168.2.1 to fix it. sowhat else can I do??? plz hlp

  1. couple of small things...might fix the problem.

    1 - restart the laptop

    2 - restart the router ...when you restart.. don't start until 1 min.

    most of the times.. this should filx the problem... also check the connection lights to make sure .. you're getting a signal..

  2. Typically when this happens, it means you need to do a MAC (physical) address clone.

    Here is how you find your physical (MAC) address in Windows XP:

    Click Start

    Click Run

    Type this command: cmd

    Click OK

    Type this command: ipconfig /all

    Your physical address for your wireless device is your MAC address.  You need to clone this in your router.

  3. idk bout switching numbers or anything...........leave it alone. this generally happens to my laptop but only when im really far away from my router. it works for a while then it quits and says limited connectivity. what i do is turn the power off on the router and turn it back on, then unplug the power cord of the router and plug it back in. thats what i do and it always fixes it.
