Wireless internet????

Question

I have 2003 Dell Computer. Yeah pretty old. It does not have the wireless internet installed internal. Is there something I can plug into my computer (without taking it down) to get the internet. My apartment has wireless internet. Actually products name will help.

you will need to get a wireless usb... plug it and then access the internet..

Get a PCMCIA WIFI adapter. Dlink brand is the most hassle free.

Assuming you have a free USB port (or buy a USB hub to free up one), you can get a wireless USB adapter. Given the age of your computer, you might only have USB 1.1 speeds though.

You have to be more specific about the computer format...either laptop or desktop......

Depending on your computer, USB will be universal and will work on both desktop and laptop.

PCI card will work on a desktop.

PCMCIA will work on a laptop and on a desktop if you buy an adapter.

A mini PCI card can actually be installed inside a laptop with an antenna. This mini-pci card can be installed on a desktop with an adapter. Interestingly, a pci card adapter for mini-pci generally take more than one mini-pci card to turn that computer into a wireless router.

If you got with mini-pci on a laptop, some laptops are bios locked to specific cards, so make sure to do some research.
