Wireless internet strength??

ok so my wireless internet has been TERRIBLE the past 3 months. i thought it was my provider so i decided to wait a while and see if it would be fixed. well it wasnt. It is only bad on MY laptop. my brothers is EXCELLENT but mine says POOR (the signal strength). everything on mine is exactly the same as his. why is my connection strength so bad? we are on the same floor as the router and modem and we are practically in the same room. so why is his strrength so much better then mine??

both of our laptops are the only things on the wireless internet. all the other computers are not wireless.

Is your wireless antenna slightly unscrewed? Or is it tight?  Make sure it's tight.

Are the laptops specs (hardware) the same also?

If there is something different like for example (ie, different Network Cards, RAM, CPU) it might make a difference.

Also you might have the same laptop but you both have different programs on them and that would also make a difference on the laptop performance.
