Wireless laptop dropping me from the shared network?

I have a dell laptop that is wireless running XP Home. Trying to connect to the shared printer on a wired desktop running Vista. I CAN connect to shared printer when I plug in the LAN cable.

Have Netgear W511 wireless card installed. Internet working fine. I have tried running the connect to network and wireless wizard. Nothing works. Any suggestions? Think it may be a problem with wireless card

Make sure the wirless is encrypted, also make sure your wireless network is the same netwok as your wired network.  SOme routers assign a separate network to the wireless network and set up firewall rules to prevent wireless from accessing wired (e.g one is 192.168.1.0 the other net is 192.168.2.0)

ALso double check your laptop's firewall settings.  It may be set to block file and print sharing for the wireless adapter
