Question:

Wireless network for large office options........?

Hi,

The office where I work is pretty large. We have a wireless router which works well in one part of the building. The problem is that in my bosses office, the signal is really weak, and cuts out all the time. My boss told me to fix it, and I was wondering what my options are. I know I can get a repeater, but I would like something a little more robust. His office has a wired drop, and I was thinking that the best idea would be to put another wireless router in his office so that he gets a stronger signal. Does this sound like a good idea, or should I be looking at another solution?? Any ideas or suggestions would be appreciated.

Thanks,

  1. If there is a wired ethernet line going into his office, then you can get an Access Point.  This will plug into the wired network and rebroadcast it as wireless.

  2. you can buy antennas at a lot of computer stores, and attach it to the router to make the signal better. I bought one for 10 bucks

and my signal is 10 percent stronger.
