I posted this question a couple days ago. I am trying again, the responsed I got, I already knew their responses. I am getting alltel wireless internet. I have a wireless router. I know what ethernet line is, how to hook ethernet line up. I know what usb ports are, and how they work. I know I can call a computer store. I am asking on this forum to get answers to something I dont already know. I need to know step by step on how to configure 3 computers with the wireless connection. I guess Im asking for someone who knows how to do it, to explain it to me, as if they just bought everything I am talking about, and how they would hook it up step by step. From start to finish. Thanks for any help.

  1. This is a bit of a challenge.  Most mainstream computer manufacturer's have their own wireless configurator software that comes pre-installed on your PC/laptop.  In Windows 2000 and newer, Microsoft has also had a wireless connection wizard.  It is your choice which one to use.

You will need the network name from your wireless router and the encryption key that you created when the router was initially secured.  Your installer should have given these to you when the router was first installed.

http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/libra... is a reasonably technical article but should give you all the steps in using the Microsoft Wireless network wizard.

The 1st link below is to help troubleshoot a home network if you are still having problems.

  2. Case one of your computers is desktop what I would do is to make it first cabled (i.e.  connect it with a cable to the wireless router) .

Configure the wireless router according to instructions . Test the connection to the Internet and if succeeds configure other computers to access the wireless network .

    Good luck
