Wireless printer help. Any help appreciated?

I have a deskjet 6980 (Extremely annoying) I had this printer for a while and first connected it using ad-hoc (printer to PC) But for some reason it worked wirelessly as in it printed and when I disconnect in order to connect to my internet connection and when i need to print I connect back to the ad-hoc. The next time I connect it doesn't connect! So now I am trying to connect it using infrastructure (to router) I need to know how to connect it wirelessly since I have a wireless router. I used an ethernet cable and it found the printer. Once I disconnected it, it said inactive. Any Ideas on how i can put it to work wirelessly without dragging my printer back to the router.

Does your printer support wireless.

If so, it comes with a software to configure it.
