Wireless problems.

Question

I have an asus f9s notebook. I bought this in Malaysia. Now I am in Australia, and am not able to get wireless, even though i can connect to a wireless hotspot. I have checked my driver, and this is working fine. i am not sure what to do. i am not sure if i have an antivirus installed before i bought this (at a computer shop). How can i disable this if i have it?
