Wireless router problems??

I hooked a wireless router up to computer and now when i take it off the internet doesnt work on that computer, nothing was changed or removed, internet worked, hooked up router, everythings fine, undo router put everything back the way it was and no connection?

  1. Whenever you change the setup you must unplug the modem's power (and router's power if you have one) for 10 seconds to reboot them.

    Normally the setup with 1 computer is:

    Wall --> Modem --> Computer

    Then with a router:

    Wall --> Modem --> Router --> Computers

    *The modem is plugged into the "WAN", "Uplink", or "Internet" port of the router

    *The computer(s) are plugged into the "LAN" ports or wireless link of the router


  2. In order for the wireless router to work you have to hook up your internet service through the router and then the router to the modem.  If you disconnect your router then you have to rehook up your internet service back to the modem.
