  1. does the router say wireless at the top if it doesn't you can't connect to the internet. if it does go to wii connect 24 search for a wireless router and update. that's it.

  2. It's up to you, whatever you like... in many cases the SSID defaults to the brand name, so many routers broadcast network names like NETGEAR, BELKIN, LINKSYS etc.

  3. You don't find it - you make one up!

Go to the website for the manufacturer of the router and follow their quick start guide.

  4. The SSID (Service Set Identifier) on a wireless network is almost the same thing as the "Domain Name" or the "Workgroup" name on a wired network.

If you are setting up a router, you can choose any name you like.

If you are trying to connect your PC or Laptop to a wireless network, you will need to know the SSID of the wireless network. Most wireless devices have an option to search for all available wireless networks within range. This will also show the signal strength and the SSID of the available networks, as well as showing if there is security set up or if they are non-secured networks.

BUT...if the administrator of the wireless network has decided to hide the SSID, you will have to ask the administrator what it is. The only other way I can think of to find the hidden SSID of a wireless network is this:

Find a PC that is currently on the network. Restart the PC.

When the PC's wireless Interface device connects to the wireless network, it will usually show the SSID in a message that says "Connected to [SSID] wireless network".

    Good Luck!

    I hope this helps!
