Question:

Wires to connect on Headunit

I have bought a Dual XDVD710 7" touchscreen headunit for my car, and I was going through the wires and it seems to me that I've got 2 wires I never have had to mess with before.

1. Parking Brake Wire - safety feature so you cant watch DVDs while not in park. I would like to bypass this. My daughter will be able to watch her Elmo and Barney while going places. I will not need to watch the Matrix while driving anyways lol.

2. Reverse Light wire. I have no clue as to what this wire is meant for. I have a 1980 Stationwagon so I doubt they planned on having this type of headunit installed in it, so do i ground this and let it be or what?

Best Answer goes to the most detailed :)

Thanks

  1. Yes you can bypass the Parking Brake Wire but i will leave that up to you to find how so i don't cause any trouble.

The Reverse Light Wire is probably for a backup camera,so i would say let it be.
