Question:

Wiring 2 12" L5s inside the box?

So I bought two L5s online without the box because it saved me about $200 to buy a kicker custom box that was never used off of craigslist. I need to wire the subs either parallel of series inside the box (Haven't really looked at that yet because I need the wire first) What gauge wire should I use to wire the subs together? I'm thinking about 12 gauge because I just don't feel 16 would be enough...Suggestions

  1. i would go with 10 gauge wire, but 12 gauge would be fine too. this mainly depends on the amount of rms watts the amp will be sending.

usually, i go with 10 gauge if its around 1000 watts. and 8 gauge on anything over 2000 watts rms.

this provides a much better flow of power plus it looks good.

now, regarding about the actual wiring of the subs, this depends on the coil configuration on the subwoofers and the amp.

  2. yea go with 12 i'd say drill a small hole through the box just enough to put the wire through and use silicone glue to fill it up
