Wiring 9v Battery's in parrallel?

I have two 9v batteries and i need to wire them in such a way that would not double the voltage but still utilize both batteries. How would i do that ?

It's not a good practice to connect batteries in parallel.

Add a diode in series with their (+). Connect their (-) together.
