I am planning on working on my own home theater subwoofer project but the subwoofer I have chosen is a DVC subwoofer and I am confused as to how I should wire it to my amp (series or paralell) and what kind of amp will work?

  1. Depends on the preamp you are using and the subwoofer.

There should be a crossover or low pass filter somewhere in the mix - if it's on the amp, there will be a 'sub out' output.  If it's in the subwoofer, use any line level output from the preamp (tape out, pre out, etc.).

Just be careful that you aren't using a low pass filter in both places - it will create a notch in the spectrum where the filters either overlap (boomy) or the cause a gap.
