Do you need two hot leads to the stereo?

one is for the player on/off (thru the ignition), the other is the memory for the clock.

I doubt that the lead to the battery is to the positive pole. It more than likely is connected to the ground or negative terminal. Reread the directions again. The CD player will receive power from the ignition side power wire.

yeah basicaly the ignition one turns the radio on and off when you switch the key. if you hook both up to the battery then it will stay on untill you manually turn it off.
