ok well i have this db speed speaker http://www.termpro.com/articles/spkrz.html would that be a good idea to have them in single boxes.....cause a box for my truck has to be custom made and will cost around 400 dollars

so basically..i want to wire two subs in two seperate boxes using the appropriate wire to connect them since they will both be on the opposite side of each other(one under passenger and other under the driver seat)

good or bad idea

  1. He means don't wire the subs so that the ohm load they present to the amp is less than the amp can handle.

Ohm is the measurent of electrical resistance.

  2. Yes that would be just fine as long as you wire them to the amp correctly.

Don't drop them below an ohm load that the amp can not handle.

  3. Electronically, there is nothing wrong with it. Separate boxes actually are preferred for two or more woofers. You see, if you go the the db web link you provided, each woofer has a recommended airspace. If your subwoofer does not sound right, check the volume of your box to see if each subwoofer has enough airspace; not too little, not too much.

    Good luck.
