Question:

Wiring cat5e low voltage Panel and wall plates?

I ran Cat6 cable throughout a new construction house. In the low voltage panel I crimped Male Leviton RJ45 Cat5e Connectors, and for the wall plates I used the Leviton Quickport female punchdown Cat5e connectors. Both sides are wired using 568 B. I cannot get an internet connection..

I made some patch cables and can plug in directly from my router to computer and it works great. But when I try the patch cable from the wall plate it does not work, none of the wall plates work. I made a male/female cable using 568-B on the male end and -A on the female end it still did not work. I installed new female ends and it still does not work...

Any ideas?

  1. Pardon my ignorance, but why are you using a low voltage panel?  The ethernet adapters supply their own voltage.
