Wiring in an 88 dodge dakota?

Question

is there anyway i can get a hold of some wiring diagrams for an 88 dodge dakota sport im in the proccess of redoing the interior , iv already put new speakers in but im looking for a stock"cd" player with an auxiallary jack for an mp3 just want to know if im going to have to rewire it all or if i can get an adapter from the old to the new wiring in the dodge systems

hey man,the best wiring diagram you,ll get on that truck will be from a haynes repair manual they give the color codes as well as the routes the wires take,and they also give really good clear pictures of where they wires go to ,i tried down loading one off the net and it wasn't worth the paper it printed it on,you can go back on the wiring on that one to an older or newer wiring harness for the radio system because haynes gives you a real good clear picture of what wire goes to each speaker and which one is power and which one is memory power,radio shack sells the adapters to change those over with,i use the haynes manuals because of the clear pics on their wiring diagrams,their the best to use Chilton's wiring diagrams you cant even make them out sometimes,but that's what you need to do on this one,this site right here has good topic of the wiring colors on that one if you can get it to load up,it may help you a lot,i use it sometimes they have all the latest in wiring diagrams good luck,,http://installdr.com/

i suggest you get yourself a "chilton repair manual" these books are written for virtually every make and model and year. they are totally in depth yet written so a layman can understand them.even a person with barely basic mechanical aptitude can rebuild the vehicle ground up. if you can change a tire you can channge the powertrain. a new one may run you $40.00 but you can useually find them in used book stores, even libraries, possibly on-line. i know you plan on doing a lot of work on your pickme up so it should be a wise investment.
