i am considering wiring my 2 subwoofers in series to produce an 8-ohm load (2 ohm DVC subs) my amp is stable at 4 ohm mono, producing 750 watts rms, my question is, will i damage my amp running 8-ohms? how can i figure out the rms & max watts my amp will produce under an 8-ohm low?

  1. It won't damage anything, if anything, 8 ohms is better for the amp. The only thing is the power will be reduced greatly probably close to half. What do you have for an amp? Is it stable at 2 ohms? You may want to go that route, or get 4 ohm DVC subs.

Update: You didn't state it was a 2 channel amp. In that case, you would be better off wiring each subs voice coils series to 4 ohm, and then wire each to its own channel.

  2. series series to get 8ohms
