Wiring new ceiling light with old dimmer switch

Question

ive just wired up new light. it is on a dimmer switch but wont dim, do i need to rewire it differently or will this particular model not dim . it has two sets of black wires and red wires but only one set comes off of the dimmer switch, thanks
