Can I wire a single subwoofer to 2 ohms? Kicker L7 solo baric subwoofer dual-2ohm. Haven't dealt with this brand before so I'm curious how to wire the subwoofer down to 2 ohms. How to?

  1. Yours can be

4ohm (series wiring) one coil + to the others- then the remaining to amp or

1ohm (parallel wiring) coil+ to coil+ to amp+  and coil- to coil- to amp-

One way to cheat is to only use one coil for 2 ohm but your sub will only handle 1/2 the power. I helped a friend who bought mis matched pieces and this was the best sounding configuration.

  2. a 2ohm DVC sub can be wired to 1 or 4ohms at the amp, if you want a 2ohm load at the amp youwouldd need to   get the 4ohm version

here is a link that will help you with your wiring http://www.the12volt.com/caraudio/woofer...

  3. With the Kicker L7 The best bet is to get 2 of them and wire them down to 2 ohms.. as for the single L7 you cant get it to bang at 2 ohms but if you wanted to wire it down to 1 ohm and then run a Rockford T1000 Power amp to it then it would kick like a horse. I still think best bet for 2 ohms is to get 2 and then look into Amp options (if the money is available) Hope everything works for ya!
