Wiring troubleshoot

Question

i own a celica gt 2001, my bf sent me a new pyle cd player. trouble is the player wires hold one more wire than my car does...and has different colors. i connected how i would of thought they went but only one side played and my player got very hot very fast. can u help?? please!
