Wisconsin Badgers continue to impress: Beat Bradley Braves 66-43: NCAA Basketball Recap
The four time NCAA finalists, Wisconsin Badgers are on a roll.
They have crushed every team they have faced so far in the NCAA Tournament 2011 and just few hours ago, they put up another solid performance against Bradley Braves thrashing them convincingly, 66-43, to extend their record to
5-0.
On the night, despite of a few minor lapses midway through the game which allowed Braves some easy baskets; they managed to stay ahead of the opponents throughout.
It was a complete team effort with all the big guns firing and other players playing the supporting role to perfection. Guard Josh Gasser, who finished with 15 points, was one happy man after the game;
"Overall we played pretty well. We moved the ball well, we got good shots, we knocked them down when we needed too. And defensively we were solid all night. We weren't great, but we were good enough."
Jordan Taylor and Ryan Evens both scored 15 points each as well. Jared Berggren only managed to score 7 points but he was exceptional on the glass with 10 rebounds. From Braves, only Taylor Brown managed to end with scores in double
figures. He missed a double-double by a whisker, scoring a game high 18 points and forcing 9 rebounds.
Ryan Evens opened the scoring for Badgers through a flying jumper in the first minute, however seconds later, Taylor Brown responded from the other side of the court with another jumper to make it 2-2.  A 7-0 spurt in the next
few minutes took Badger ahead by 9-2 but again it was countered with a 5-0 run.
Badgers shifted gears after that though and reeled off a 15-5 run to make it 24-12 with 5 minutes remaining in the half. Taylor Brown and Dyricus Simms-Edward kept on fighting hard from the other end to reduce the deficit but Badgers
countered every such effort and managed to acquire a critical 11 point lead 35-24 going into the second stanza.
Jordan Prosser lifted a layup in attempt to bring the deficit down, however another 8 point burst, keyed by Ryan Evens, boosted Badgers’ lead to 43-26.  The onslaught continued and when Gasser drilled a three midway through the
half, the Wisconsin lead mounted to 20 points.
Braves needed something inspirational at that point, but they succumbed to the pressure and failed to challenge the opponents in last part of the frame.
