Wisconsin missing two receivers against Arizona State

The Wisconsin Badgers will be missing both Nick Toon and David Gilreath when they take on the Arizona State Sun Devils this weekend.

The Badgers will be missing Toon for the second consecutive game due to a turf toe injury he suffered in their season opener. Meanwhile, Gilreath will miss Saturday’s engagement after suffering a concussion
in their last game against San Jose State. Gilreath was hit hard returning a punt and was removed from the field on a stretcher. Fortunately the youngster was released from hospital later that day.

Starting in place of the injured Toon and Gilreath will be Isaac Anderson and one of Jared Abbrederis or Kyle Jefferson.

Abbredris has caught five passes this season for a total of 58 yards, while Jefferson has caught two passes for a total of 39 yards. Anderson, who has been guaranteed the start, has managed to pull in three
passes for 36 yards.

There is no question that the Badgers will miss both Gilreath and Toon. Toon was the leading receiver last season with 805 yards, while Gilreath currently leads all Wisconsin wide outs with five catches and
75 yards.

The Badgers will also start Ricky Wagner at tackle in place of the injured Josh Ogelsby, who continues to recover from a knee injury and is only practicing at this time.

The unbeaten Badgers will take on the 2-0 Sun Devils this weekend as both sides face their first real challenge of the season. Wisconsin is coming off a 27-14 win over San Jose State, while the Sun Devils
are celebrating a 41-20 victory over Northern Arizona in week two.

Wisconsin is currently ranked number 11 in the nation, while Arizona State remains unranked, but has been performing well in a difficult PAC-10 this season.
