1. I think most of your questions have been answered so I will will not repeat what others have said but make a few suggestions.

    1. Buy soft ice packs BEFORE the surgery to use after.

    2. Get the prescriptions filled BEFORE you go home from the oral surgeon.

    3. Plan to rest the first day at least.

    4. Make sure you follow the doctor's instructions for care of your mouth.

I have had three wisdom teeth and another tooth surgically removed and while the procedure itself was no big deal, I just had lots of novacaine! When the novacaine wore off I need the pain pills big time!~O The ice will make it feel better and keep swelling down. However with the ice and pain pills and some good movies the recovery was not too bad. After a week it was like nothing had happened! Just remember nothing lasts for ever!

  2. You'll be in the chair, they'll give you something to calm you, and then you'll be given the sleep medication. When you wake up, you'll be sleepy for awhile. They should give you something for any pain following the extraction, but by far the 'worst' will happen when you are asleep. Don't be worried ... a 'bony impaction' simply means the teeth will be a tiny bit more difficult to get out, but it will still be fast and easy when you are asleep. Don't be scared ... I'll be praying for your fast recovery. I had all four of my wisdom teeth out on the same day without being put to sleep and the dentist was AMAZING ... he was done when I was still waiting for him to start ... and I have the feeling that the dentist working on your teeth is as good or better.

  3. They put cotton balls in your mouth and it feels terrible ewwwww and then they inject you and you feel it ooze in your gums then you go numb and prickly then you feel a lump that feels alot bigger then it seems and it slides out your mouth slowley after a few tugs

    it sucks

  4. 1. See this page. It has a picture and explanation of a full bony impaction.

    http://www.impactedwisdomtooth.com/tooth...

    2. Don't be scared. Thousands of people have them taken out every day.

    3. They may give you a pill to take before you leave the house and go to the dentist office. It will make you real relaxed.

    4. I don't think it's scary to be put out. But the first time when you don't know exactly what happens you'll think about it a lot and worry it.

    5. They could give you a shot to put you out. It's almost like just going to sleep.

When they're done they'll wake you up and you'll be drowsy they should give you a prescription for a few pain pills to take for a couple of days because your mouth will be real sore but it quits hurting after a couple of days and is just sore. Be gentle with your mouth and just eat soft food and don't drink anything real cold or hot.

  5. I'm not sure of the first, but I can answer #4. Being put out is the best thing. You get a little needle and then you will feel like you got the best nap of your life and for the rest of the day you will sleep. It should go easily for the rest of the time as long as you don't make my mistake and eat solid foods too early. I got it in my stitches and had a terrible time. Not likely to happen though! Why be so scared?

  6. ouch it's not that bad tho. just eat lots of mashed potatoes after and u'll be fine!!!!!

  7. Dont be scared.

I got mine taken out about 5 years ago. I am not sure what a full bone impaction it but for mine they put me asleep. For me they gave me a shot and then about 5 seconds later i was out. Didnt feel anything at all. just got the shot and next thing i know the dentist was telling me to wake up because they were finished.

for me the dentist said because of the way my wisdom teeth were growing. They had to cut my gums open (because they were still under my gums) and break my wisdom teeth up and take them out in pieces. sounds scary but your asleep its all the same.

As far as pain afterwards. I didnt have any now my gums bleed for about 2 days and I had to keep putting cotton things in my mouth to soak the blood up when they would start bleeding. But i had no pain at all. The doctor gave me some painkillers but I ended up not needing a single one.

Now my friend when he got his done he as the opposite. He didnt have any bleed but he had some pain so i dunno guess it just depends on the person and how they had to get the teeth out. Hope this helps.

    5. how do they put u out There are several ways they do it. It all depends on how your teeth have grown in wether they have to do something like mine or if they can just straight up pull them all. it just all depends

Dont be scared it will make it alot easier.
