I'm getting my wisdom teeth pulled out (4) but I'm a teen, so they haven't really grown.

I'm getting them pulled out/ejected =/ and I'll be pretty much sleeping the whole time, IV injections will be given.

Any tips on before and after the surgery? and what will exactly happen?

and IV...I hate them. =/

yeah..

  1. get some clove oil for the sore gums afterwards,

(no scrip, but ask at pharmacy counter)

and have plenty of milkshake items ready too

  2. tell your Mom your favorite kind of ice cream and popsicles!!

It won't be any fun after you wake up and for a couple of days but wisdom teeth are nothing but a problem. Get them out now. The sooner the better. The doctor will give you some medicine to help you with discomfort afterwards.

As for as the IV. Just be strong and tough and  DO NOT MOVE. HOLD YOUR HAND VERY STILL. There is nothing worse than getting the needle to the site, barely sticking it in and the person jerking it away. You have blown up a good vein and have to start over and just have to re-stick the person. So please be still. You'll be fine.

  3. Just try and relax before the surgery and while they aare putting the IV in.  After the IV is in, your meds will be given, you will be out so quickly.

After the procedure you will be awakened but very groggy.

  4. Do not lay down post surg-no straws or sucking this will cause dry sockets-you do NOT want that- or smoking-just be sure to follow all your surgeons directions. Have someone make up ice packs before -to have ready when u get home-frozen peas with towel are good, they will mold to shape of you face

    good luck
