Wisdom teeth.. Facial paralysis??

My son cant close his right eye, His cheek is numb and his face is slightly distorted and talks like his mouth is numb. His wisdom teeth are growing in sideways the medical doctor said the wisdoem teeth are causing all of this and it must be removed. I just want to know can Wisdom teeth cause the facial problems he is encountering

  3. You are describing a Facial Palsy that results from some kind of damage to the Facial nerve, which is the 7th Cranial nerve.

    The Facial nerve runs pretty far posterior to the wisdom tooth area.  It is possible that a tumor or cyst in the jaw could put pressure on the nerve.  But I can't find anywhere in the research that an impacted wisdom tooth is a possible cause for this condition.

    You may need to consult with another doctor to find the cause....but you should definitely keep pursuing this problem with your medical doctors and or oral surgeons.
