I had all 4 wisdom teeth removed a week ago this morning and i felt perfectly normal today. Without thinking at a restaurant i smoked a cigarette today. Now i notice bleed from my right side. Could this be a potential dry socket? Or what else could it be. Please Help!

  1. You might want to refrain from smoking, spitting, using a straw etc. anything that would cause the blood clot to be dislodged from the extraction site, chances are the extraction sites aren't 100% healed.  Continue to keep the area clean and free from any food by rinsing the area out with warm salt water, this also will promote healing.  To stop minor bleeding you can place a warm teabag on the site, however if you are experiencing severe bleeding, ie. bloody gauze after 45 min contact your Dr.   Good luck!

  2. If it were a dry socket, you would be in a great deal of pain.  Call your doctor.  Any bleeding should be addressed.
