Wisdom teeth: Warm water and salt rinses --- how long?

Ok, so I had my two lower wisdom teeth surgically removed on Wednesday (08/06/2008). Things seem to be healing up nicely: the bleeding stopped within 12 hours of surgery, and my swollen jaw is already getting less swollen. I was told to rinse with 1 tsp of salt in 8oz. of water after every meal. But how long do I keep doing this for? Like how many days? (Tomorrow will be 72 hours since the surgery.)

  1. You should just keep doing this until your holes are grown back. It just helps clean them so you won't be at risk for getting an infection. I had four of my wisdom teeth removed 8 days ago, and I'm still doing it.

  2. i had my wisdom tooth remove july 22 and i am still doing salt water rinses on auguist 9.
