I'm getting my wisdom teeth out on Tuesday at 3:00pm and my boyfriend is having a party that night and I reeeeealllly want to go.

Do you think I will be able to go? I know I won't be able to do much but, I just want to go and sit for a few hours in the evening/night. Will I be in a lot of pain? Will there be alot of bleeding?

  1. it depends on your pain tolerance and if they are impacted.

you might be out of it, but you could also be ok.

  2. hun you're gonna be out of it and spitting blood all day...and plus the dentist or oral surgeon is gonna give u some painkillers like vicodin and it might make u nauseous and very drowsy..not really a good idea

  3. I assume you are have all 4 of your wisdom teeth taken out, so I am going to tell you, you are going to feel like a either Alvin, Simon or Theodore.  You are barely going to be able to talk, and you are going to be slobbering all over the place like a newborn baby.  Plus your mouth is going to be really bruised.

So have fun at the party.

  4. when i got my wisdom teeth removed, i was on painkillers for about a month after which caused me to be CONSTANTLY tired. My face was also extremely bruised for a couple of months after. Everyone has different experiences with wisdom teeth, but as long as the medication you recieve isn't too hard for you to handle .. and you don't feel sick or tired, I don't see why you wouldn't be able to go. Just be prepared to stay home if you don't feel up to it ... Also .. you can't (or shouldn't) really eat solid foods for a few days after the procedure .. so make sure you steer clear of any food that might be at the party as well.

  5. When I got my wisdom teeth removed I did bleed a lot but as long as you keep gauze in your mouth(which the dentist will give you), you'll be ok.

Pain? I didn't experience any pain, more like pressure.

I think you could go to the party unless you are feeling bad for some other reason. But I felt fine after mine.

  6. party like a rock star. don't drink pop. that hurts. a lot.a lot.a lot a lot alot!

  7. Nope ~ dont' go to the party.

Is the extraction under anesthesia? If so, you won't be able to go anywhere for a couple of days. You wont' be able to eat or drink much of anything.  Maybe water, and or a milkshake.  You will also be on medication so you should NOT drink alcohol.

I'd stay home and rest.  This is a big thing.  You don't want anything to go wrong.  Can you reschedule the appointment? If your BF's party is that important?

  8. No you probably shouldn't go. Your mouth will be stuffed with gauze so you won't be able to talk or anything. You're gonna have to be changing the gauze every 45 minutes. And you will probably be on painkillers which will make you very sleepy. And your mouth might swell up, and even if not, you will be uncomfortable.
