Wisdom teeth questions...?

I am having my two bottom wisdom teeth cut out on Thursday and it could not come at a worse time. I have senior pictures the next Tuesday and a hair appointment that Saturday. Do you think I will be up to those two appointments? How long does it take me to feel better again?

  1. That is really bad timing.  You could still be swollen and or bruised from the surgery.  You could be suffering from Dry socket.  Or you could be perfectly fine.  There is no way to know how your body will reasct to the surgery.  If you want to be sure to have perfect pictures, you may want to reschedule your surgery.

  2. I hope they are putting you to sleep?  If you have a choice of whether to or not say yes!  My son had all 4 pulled on a Wed. & by Fri. or Sat. he was feeling pretty good. Swelling was minimal & no brusing at. But I think it depends on if your teeth are turned sideways etc. If it is an easy procedure then you should be OK.  That's 5 days til your pics, thats enough time!  Use ice packs if you are afraid of swelling.  But your hair appointment may be a little ify. Take the pain medication they perscribe and ask someone to drive you to the hair appointment.  Good luck!

  3. it depends on how simple or difficult the wisdom tooth extraction, if its simple, u can make ur appointment 1-2 dyas, surgical removal of wsdom teeth may lead to prolonged time of discomfort, 5-7 days, little pain, some swelling (not infection), wish u good dental health

  4. Well, I didn't have my wisdom teeth out, but I did have four pulled out on Tuesday. The first day I felt like c**p, and the second, semi-better. Some people recover from pain faster than others, so you'll have to wait and see. You should be fine if no problems come up.

  5. sure

  6. I would think about rescheduling the pictures.  Some people do fine and have very little swelling, bruising or pain but some have the extreme case.  I had a touch of swelling in my jaw line when I had all 4 of mine removed.  Also they would not let me brush until my stitches came out and that can take up to 12 days.  I didn't feel bad though and didn't need to really take any pain meds.  I had IV sedation so I slept the day of and the day after pretty much.  Do what you feel comfortable with but it may be pushing it a bit.

  7. I had all four wisdom teeth pulled last month.  It actually wasn't that bad.  If they put you to sleep, you just wake up in a daze.  I have been under before but this stuff was really powerful.  I woke up and didnt know where I was for a couple of minutes.  The first day is obviously the worst.  I didn't feel anything after that.  The worst part of the whole thing is your mouth feels very dirty for a few days cause you cant brush.  You have bad breath (really bad) becaues the holes in your mouth release an odor as well.  You should be fine by the third day but I could be a fast healer.
