Wisdom teeth removed weeks ago, sudden symptoms?

I had my wisdom teeth removed on July 10th. Now, my left cheek is swelling a bit. It feels like there's a hard mass in the cheek and it is very tender. My cheek just feels heavy. There is also a little soreness. Is this an infection? (I am calling my oral surgeon tomorrow, today is Sunday so there isn't anything I can do about it for now. I'm just curious what else it could be.)

it could possibly be an abcess.  Its basically a pocket of pus and they have to drain it.  Its very painful b/c I got one after I had my wisdom teeth removed.  Just make sure you call the dentist asap so you can go and get things checked out.
