Wisdom teeth sockets still bleeding?

I had my upper and lower wisdom teeth on the right side of my face taken out this morning (procedure was complete at 12:00 in the afternoon) and it is 7:15 in the evening now. Is it still normal for me to be bleeding?

This is the most painful thing I have ever felt!

its gonna hurt like crazy. it will hurt a long time. but if it still hurts EXTREMELY BAD in 7 days, just call ur dentist for tips. '

In the meantime try a warm salt water rinse. get some boiling water, add some cold to it, make it warm, and add a good bit of salt and rinse. it helps!!!

Yeah that's completely normal. I had four taken out two weeks ago and I bled for 24 hours after the procedure. That's the normal time.

My recommendation is to take 3 Motrin with one Vicodin, if that's what you're prescribed as the painkiller. I didn't feel ANY pain with the entire healing process and I had four taken out. And stay on a tight schedule with taking your meds.

mine bleed bad for at LEAST a day, maybe 2... cant remember.  i was on vicodin - and out cold pretty much

I just had all 4 of my wisdom teeth pulled a couple of months ago.  I remember bleeding for at least the whole first day, I remember thinking the same thing you are.  Throughout the day it has slowed though, right?  I'm not sure if the Dr. told you to use lipton ice tea packets, but they helped me a lot, and it was nice to get to taste something other than water, just put 'em in and leave them be for a while, hopefully this helps.  In a week or two you'll be just fine, maybe even sooner, I know I was off work for a week and a half.  And I don't know if you smoke, but DO NOT smoke for a couple of days if you do, having your'e teeth pulled doesn't even compare to the pain of dry sockets.
