1. I had mine out 3 yrs ago!

I didnt find it bad at all. My face went pretty swollen and bruised but u get a lot of pain killers to take your mind off it.

As far as food goes. Get custard , Jelly, my personal favourite is.... u buy a can of chicken and sweet corn soup (chinese style) and then put in cooked 2 minute noodles. It was yummo.

I had my wisdom teeth out on a Thursday and I think I was back to work on the Monday or Tuesday. I would be a bit careful with sports though where you could possibly get hit in the face. I accidently got hit in the mouth and I bled straight away (but this was only 1 or 2 days later).

I think lots of people react differently to this operation. It depends on how your wisdom teeth are positioned, the anastetic that is used and how your body handles it. I think the best thing to do would be to speak to the dentist/doctor before hand and make sure he tells you what to expect.

I had the amnesia drug (not sure what it was called) but I was fine. I woke up high as a kite loving the world and drooling lol

Good luck, its not that bad really

  2. You might want to take it easy for a while, you want to avoid getting Dry Socket...I didnt get it but I've heard its the worse! I had mine taken out about 2 months ago and honestly wasn't as bad as I thought. I looked worse than I felt. I stuck with soups, I ate nothing harder than a banana. Whatever you do, don't drink out of a straw! They will give you an instruction paper as to what they recommend you eating and how to take of it. My case was a little special, one of my wisdom teeth was partly under my bone so they had to saw a part off to extract my tooth. I was really swollen and bruised for about 3-4 days. They gave me some Percocet for the pain, which I only took at night to sleep. Call your dentist tomorrow and ask them, they should be able to answer all your questions.
