Hi

I had my lower right impacted wisdom tooth taken out at the hospital, I had a bad time after the operation but when I went back to the hospital for a check up (6 days after the operation), they cleaned the socket and everything seemed to be getting better. No antibiotics were prescribed. The pain has indeed gone down a lot now, 11 days have passed after the operation, stitches have started to be dissolved. The socket is nearly healed. In general, I have decreased the number of painkillers dramatically and sometimes during the day I take no painkillers and I experience no pain at all. What I don't understand is why I am in no pain at all during the day and in terrible pain during the night, especially the early morning hours. It is ridiculous really, to have next to zero pain during the day without painkillers and to suffer pain only at night. It wakes me up every night...

I have to say here that after operation I would always experience more pain at night than during the day. Is there a rule that after wisdom teeth extraction the pain becomes more intense during nighttime? How can that be possible? In general, do we experience more intensive pain during the night than during the day?
