Wise Dan – One of the most consistent runners of 2012
Wise Dan has proved to be one of the most dominant stallions during the 2012 season and he will be looking to continue his solid form in the remainder of the year in order to gain solid momentum before the start of 2013.
Although, there are quite a few runners, who have delivered memorable performances for their respective teams, yet there are some who stand out because of their consistency. Winning one or two events is not a big achievement, but repeating such results regularly
takes a lot of effort.
Therefore, Wise Dan can be considered as one of the modern greats because he has been able to maintain a high winning percentage. He is quite young and has the ability to continue making his team proud in the years to come.
However, it will be important for the five-year-old gelding to continue training hard in order to keep on challenging his rivals at the highest level. He has got a fantastic record, but should not get carried away because of it.
The Charles Lopresti’s trainee has appeared in a total of 17 events, winning 11 of them. There was only one occasion, where he finished as a runner up. He does not like being labelled as the second best, thus he always gives his best shot for a victory.
Wiseman´s Ferry’s son made his debut in 2010 and was unable to deliver a positive result for his team in his first race. However, he got everything right in his next three outings and completed a hat-trick of victories.
Next year also turned out to be a positive one for the talented runner, as he managed to win four events during that time period. He carried that momentum into 2012 and has been unstoppable until now.
The American challenger has appeared in five races this year, winning four of them whereas finished as a runner up once. The margin of his victories has always been comprehensive, which shows that he is difficult to stop, once he is on song.
Wise Dan has enjoyed his partnership with young jockey, J. R. Velazquez, who is rapidly making his name in the sport. The two of them will look to a strong working relationship in the years to come.
